As a student, Hinds Community College was a one-semester bridge for Jackson lawyer Ben Piazza from where he was to where he wanted to go. But a decade or so later, after joining the Navy and earning a law degree from the University of Mississippi in 1976, he found himself back at Hinds, this time in a professional capacity.

Retired president receives inaugural Hall of Fame award

Students at heart of new president’s priorities

Both parents were first-generation college students who earned doctorates. Retiring President Muse’s legacy honored
More than 900 friends and family gathered on Feb. 20 to celebrate the legacy of retiring Hinds President Dr. Clyde Muse. His 68 years of public service to Mississippi education, including 42 years to Hinds Community College from which he is retiring on June 30 is beyond impressive.
