Giving
Unrestricted Gifts
Another tremendous need of the Foundation is for unrestricted gifts. These undesignated gifts allow the Foundation to use the money where it is most needed—for scholarships, faculty/staff recognition, community awareness, or for other challenges that may arise.

Scholarships
Through a scholarship gift to the Hinds CC Foundation, contributors can actually monitor the progress of a student as he or she benefits from the donation, reaching goals that once seemed unattainable. Providing a Hinds CC scholarship for a deserving student is also an excellent way to honor or memorialize a loved one, and individual criteria can be matched to the donor’s desires.
Memorial Scholarships
Memorial scholarships are a great way of honoring an individual while also helping someone get an education.
The Carla McCulloch Scholarship has been offered through the Hinds Community College Foundation for 26 years. It is like a family reunion each year when the family comes back to Mississippi to present the scholarship. The Hinds Community College Foundation is honored to have this scholarship, and to share with the McCulloch family the excitement of being involved in helping another person reach a goal.
Your Tax-Deductible Gift
Even though Hinds benefits from state appropriations, the College has become “state assisted” rather than “state funded,” receiving less than 35% of its funding from the State of Mississippi this year. Your support of the Hinds CC Foundation helps ensure the success of deserving students by providing them with the funds needed to complete their education. Many students could not pursue their dreams of a better life without the help of people like you.
