Louis L. Johnson Jr. (1971, 1973) was recently honored for his support by the Hinds County School Board. He played baseball and football at Hinds AHS and attended Utica Junior College on a baseball scholarship.

Jacob Iles (2003) was recently hired to be head girls basketball coach at Canton Academy. He was a member of Hinds Connection and played on the tennis team.

James Davis (2015) was recently recognized by the Delta Business Journal as an outstanding minority business leader. Davis is founder and owner of 2240 Foundation and Davis Plumbing Services LLC.

Dr. Bill Boteler (1974) of Madison was honored for his achievements and contributions by the school’s Dental Alumni Board. Boteler, an associate professor in Care Planning and Restorative Sciences, is the 2023 Distinguished Friend of the Year.

Daryl Carson (2021) has been named Deputy Coroner in Warren County. Carson is a licensed paramedic with the Vicksburg Fire Department and is also a registered nurse. Spending 23 years with the VFD, he is currently holding the rank of captain.

Dr. Debbie Norris (1977), Dean of the Graduate School and Associate Provost at Mississippi College, has announced her retirement. Norris transferred to Mississippi College from Hinds and worked there for 40 years.

Cassandra Ringo (2004) was a Teacher of the Year finalist in Warren County. She is an English II instructional coach at Vicksburg High School.

Beverly Fewell (1989) has been promoted to Branch Officer at the Peoples Bank in Magee. Fewell has been associated with Peoples Bank for 13 years and will now assist the Branch Manager with daily routines.

Tom Weathersby

Tom Weathersby (1965) has retired from the state legislature and was recognized with the new Mississippi Forensic Laboratory being named in his honor. Weathersby was instrumental in getting the state-of-the-art facility located in Pearl.

Robert Weathersby

Robert Weathersby (2009) of Clinton is the chief operating officer for Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb. He received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Hinds and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern Mississippi.
