Dr. Debbie Norris (1977) says she was quite the serious student throughout high school and beyond, though she still credits her Hinds experience as life-shaping and critical. Norris, associate provost and graduate dean at Mississippi College, grew up in Raymond. Among her influences was her mother, Martha Robinson, who taught business technology for years on the Raymond Campus.
Titles might change, but hearts and minds tend to stay the same. Changes happening at Hinds this semester have been varied and numerous. But, the faces and experiences of those leading the college efforts for transformation have deep roots and passion for the college.
Legendary coach and athletic director Gene Murphy retired at the end of February after a career spanning more than 35 years, numerous football championships and a reputation for touching young athletes’ lives.
Natasha Haynes (1992) isn’t a chef by trade, but cooks up the best fast-and-healthy eats the Mississippi State Extension Service website has to offer. She credits her years as a Hinds student, including the college’s student public relations and recruiting group Hinds Connection, for why her food video series has been a success.
