Foundation positioned to better serve community

The Hinds Community College Foundation office has been reorganized to better serve the college as well as the community. There are new faces as well as familiar faces that are returning in new roles. “We’re excited about the future of the Hinds Foundation and the recent changes to our department that have positioned us to serve our campus and community in new and innovative ways,” said Hinds Community College Foundation Executive Director Matt Jones. “As we move into the new school year, we’re ready to hit the ground running as we identify avenues of support for our students, faculty and staff.”

Robyn Burchfield has returned to Hinds after a short stint at Mississippi College with the title of Director of Development & Scholarships. She will continue to develop relationships with donors and friends of the college, establish and maintain new and existing scholarships for our students, as well as helping with fundraising efforts for all areas of Hinds. Mark Jimerson (2012) is the Donor Relations and Engagement Specialist. He graduated from Hinds with an associate, earned a bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University in 2015; Master of Arts in higher education in August 2017 from Ole Miss; and is in the final stages of his Ph.D in Higher Education from MSU. His role is to build relationships with the Black American community, including business leaders and organizations to increase donorship and scholarships for Black American students. Sydney Love (2018) is now the Alumni Coordinator. An Edwards native, she played soccer at Hinds and graduated with an associate degree in Graphic Design. She has been with the Foundation office for three years. Her role is multi-faceted and includes maintaining and developing relations with alumni and friends of the college, serving as the liaison for Hindsight magazine, coordinating Hinds CC Foundation Social Media efforts and coordinating special events related to alumni. Leslie Moak, a Hinds employee for 12 years, is now Foundation Administration and Events Coordinator. Her responsibilities include helping manage funds coming into the Foundation, managing the college events calendar and coordinating college events. She can be reached at Leslie.Moak@hindscc.edu.

Kathy Price (1997) is Foundation Chief Financial Officer. She has been working with the Foundation for 25 years. She came to Hinds in 1984 and completed an Allied Health Program.  She started working at Hinds in 1997 and completed an associate degree.  She is responsible for all the financials associated with the Foundation accounts and also assists with coordination and execution of special events. Eliza Samuels (2011) is the Administrative Assistant. She attended Hinds in 2011 and transferred to Jackson State.  She has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Education. She can be reached at Eliza.Samuels@hindscc.edu.
