Montage Theatre of Dance

Alumni Chapter

About

Montage Theatre of Dance is the only multidisciplinary dance company in the State of Mississippi with a variety of genres such as tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, African, modern and improvisation. Montage prides itself on being a well-versed dance community with different ages, sizes, genders, and skill sets. We aim to have an educational space for dancers to grow their skill, develop their perspective, and elevate their mind.

History

Montage Theatre of Dance was founded in 2004 by Tiffany Jefferson. Jefferson felt ballet and modern were limited in their expression and included multidisciplinary genres of dance to tell a more diverse story. With only 14 members to start, Montage has grown and performed at some of the most notable places in the world. The company has graced stages at Carnegie Hall in New York City, Bridgewater College in Somerset, England, Shanghai Acrobats in Branson, Missouri, Tyler Jr. College in Tyler, Texas, Little Rock Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C., 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, United Kingdom, Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland, Lincoln Center in New York, New York, Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, Aloa Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, Florence, Italy, and many more.
